Found this on the bay. Anybody ever heard a set of these? Looks interesting, probably meant for more of a sound reinforcement application than a theater application.

Thanks, shoulda looked a little harder i guess. Their reasonably close, if he had 2 complete ones I might be more inclined but I really don't have the time to drive out there, let alone figure out how to build another cabinet! Still, one might make a pretty neat center channel.
The cabinet is big enough to put a TV on top of........ maybe too tall depending on preferance. I'd like to have a pair and put them up on legs/feet. JBL had some cabinet that they put up on short stainless legs. I'd like to do something like that with an Altec 816 cabinet, which the 9864A uses.

If my brain still works, the 9864 uses a modded 816, looks like they split the port and put half top and bottom, then turned sideways.

It's an 816VI or VIX...... can't remember the official designation for sure. The pictures in that link are out of proportion, Though. It's not nearly that wide looking.
Edit: I think a couple of other measurements were changed too, but it's been too long since I compared, to remember what.

I think that's Japanese for "divorce horn"

The weirdest incarnation of the 816 is the A800. Yes, it is tapered.
